How do I find the front page articles from the day I was born from the New York Times?

Answer given to question: The printer for the microfilm reader is not working very well so we have been directing the students to a work-around. First go to Newspaper articles, then New York Times, have the student choose the date they were born (on this date). Click on Search Options at the bottom and then have the student choose Front Page from the document type.

All of the articles will appear as results, the only difficulty may be that some articles are blocked by copyright but the majority appear to be available.

How do I access an ebook from Learning Express Library?

Answer given to question: Asked Traci - - the patron needs to create an account in Learning Express Library before they are able to access any of the resources. This is best done on campus, the IP will be recognized and the student can log on from there. Otherwise, the student may need to register through their public library.

I am looking for specific Criminal Justice journals , how can I find them? Also, how can I find books on organized crime?

Answer given to question: The student had done a search using Criminal Justice Abstracts (EBSCO database) so I showed him how to use the Find It button to find the full-text of articles.

For books, he had not searched the entire collection and therefore had not returned many results. Found plenty of materials by searching the whole collection.

Question: Where can I find reviews of the Dollhouse (various productions over time) and critical reviews of the play?

Answer given to question: We found reviews of productions in International Bibliography of Theater & Dance with Full Text and for the critical reviews I pointed the student to the Literature Resource Center. (completely forgot about MLA!)

Where can we find the Spanish equivalents of news magazines like Time or Newsweek?

Answer given to question: First looked under Electronic Journals and the Languages and Spanish, found mostly literature related periodicals. Asked Traci if she knew off-hand of any periodicals, Traci found a website (from MIT) which provided links to a number of newspapers and magazines in Spanish.
